Julie Nys serves as the Employment Processes Manager and HR Manager for the LTI. In this role, she advises faculty and staff on human resources matters, manages hiring and onboarding processes, ensures departmental HR compliance, and supervises the LTI Office Manager. Julie also oversees visa and immigration processes, reviews timesheet approvals, and supports operational policy development.
Originally from Kiev, Ukraine, Julie holds a Master’s in Public Policy and Management from the University of Pittsburgh and is a certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR) through the HR Certification Institute (HRCI). Prior to joining LTI, she worked as an HR professional at both the University of Pittsburgh and UPMC.
Outside of work, Julie enjoys reading, traveling, riding her Peloton bike, walking trails, and caring for her collection of houseplants. She’s also a devoted fan of owl- and fox-themed décor.
